Long-form name: Negara Brunei Darussalam.

Executive branch: sultan, prime minister, Council of Cabinet
Ministers.
Legislative branch: unicameral Legislative Council (Majlis
Masyuarat Megeri).
Judicial branch: Supreme Court.

in 1970 the Council was changed to an appointive body by
